    Access to HE programmes need no formal qualifications or entry requirements and are designed to equip adult learners with the new skills necessary to kick start their new career.

    Studying Aerospace Engineering at Solihull College could give you the power to develop a career as an engineer in one of the most challenging and diverse industries in the modern world.

    The HNC and HND in Aeronautical will train you for senior technician roles and provide a route to Incorporated Engineer Status, as well as give you a thorough grounding in the design, manufacture and testing of materials, and aerodynamics.

With a host of animals living onsite including meerkats, reptiles, donkeys and birds to name a few, studying Animal Behaviour & Welfare at Solihull College & University Centre will provide you with the hands on experience you’ll need to get ahead in your exciting career.

    Our Land Based Centre encompasses a three-storey building, complete with specialist rooms to accommodate our diverse animal family including aviary birds, parrots, skunks and rabbits. In addition, a large range of exotics including lizards, snakes, tortoises, fish and turtles are also enjoying life in our specially designed reptile habitats.

    Two external barns and paddocks have also been built to house our larger animals of goats and pigs. The Centre has been thoughtfully designed to provide first-class and practical facilities for students on our higher level Animal Management programmes.

    We are the only College within the local area boasting these enviable courses and amenities, attracting students from across the West Midlands and Warwickshire regions including Birmingham and Coventry.

    The College has an enviable reputation for its range of Animal Management courses, which are designed to equip you with the subject knowledge you’ll need to progress in the industry and the support from our experienced tutors will ensure that you get the most out of your time here.

    Our Higher Education programmes in Animal Behaviour & Welfare/Advanced Veterinary Nursing provide an educational foundation for a range of careers in the management and welfare of animals. The courses provide an ideal progression route onto an animal management or related degree course, or employment within the animal care sector, including working in animal rescue centres, zoos or veterinary practices, and many more.

    Our HND and Degree programmes offer a range of technology driven courses. These include networking and software applications in the HNC/HND Computer Systems Development and BSc (Hons) Business Systems and Technology.

    Our brand new degree in Games Design & VR in partnership with the University of Northampton will be studied in our new virtual reality lab at Blossomfield Campus, ensuring you learn in industry standard facilities.

    At Solihull College we are proud of our higher level photography programmes. During your studies you will be taking your skills and knowledge of photography to a professional level guided by tutors with decades of experience. They will help you to learn essential techniques and processes as well as how to make money by selling your work.

    On the course you will also learn the importance of working to a brief, how to conduct yourself in a professional environment and technical skills. The college is equipped with a professional standard studio and lighting, together with a suite of mac computers loaded with the latest post- production software.

    You are frequently instructed on a one to one basis as well as taking part in field trips and gallery visits. We also are visited by ex-students who share their experiences of life after college.

    Science

    The Foundation Degree in Applied Biosciences has been written in conjunction with leading employers in the region, including two NHS trusts, and Oxford Brookes University.  It serves to train students with the necessary skills and knowledge to fill significant skills gaps within the sector.  During both years of the Foundation Degree in Applied Biosciences, students will be able to undertake work placements within the pathology labs of NHS hospitals, with a number of existing students securing paid employment within these laboratories during the course of their studies.

    Following the completion of a Foundation Degree in Applied Biosciences, students can choose to top-up their qualification to a full BSc honours degree in Applied Biosciences with one further year of full time study.  Alternatively, they may choose to apply for positions within the laboratories they undertook their work placements in or with other employers in the sector.

    All of our science courses allow you to study in our newly refurbished science laboratories with brand-new, industry standard resources.  Higher Education students in science also benefit from the specialist life science laboratory which was specifically developed for use in training staff for roles in clinical life-science laboratories such as those found in NHS hospitals.

    Solihull College & University Centre is delighted to announce a new partnership degree opportunity with Newman University. The degree is over a three year period and designed specifically for people who have a passion for youth and community work

    Studying Youth and Community Work at Newman and Solihull College will not only enable you to gain professional Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) recognition, which you require to practice as a youth worker in the UK, but you also get to choose an optional pathway in a practice-based setting.
